Residents in and around Venice, Florida that are looking for a night out on the town have a lot of options in August at the Venice Theatre. The Venice Theatre has some great shows on the main stage this August and is continuing their Summer Cabaret Festival throughout the month of August. This means that there is something different to see almost every night of the week at the Venice Theatre in Venice, Florida this month!

Zombie Prom

It’s the age-old question what is a girl to do when her dead ex-boyfriend comes back from the dead and ask her to the prom? The answer is that you have a musical performance that will bring the dead back to life. This is one performance that will be to die for, make sure to reserve your tickets early as the show will only be running through August 12th!

This is a show that will feature many songs you have never heard before mixed with a few that might just sound familiar to you. If you want to be exposed to a performance that is breathtaking, then this is the one for you. Part of the Summer Cabaret Festival, this show takes place on August 3rd and August 8th.

Sinning Sirens

Burlesque is not dead, it just took a vacation and is alive and well in Venice, Florida with the Sinning Sirens. If you have never been to a burlesque performance, then this is a great time to check out a show during this part of the Summer Cabaret Series. There will be two shows: August 4th and August 5th.

Zombie Serenade, Songs in the Key of Aaaiiieee!

Proof that zombies while dead can still be entertaining. You will love this performance, and when it is over, you are guaranteed to have a number of the songs stuck in your head. The 2017 Summer Stock cast will be joining the Summer Cabaret Series with three shows: August 9th, August 10th, and on August 11th.

Don’t Quit Your Day Job

This addition to the Summer Cabaret series is put on by the talented Venice Theatre Staff themselves! That’s right, employees that usually tear tickets and run marketing campaigns are going to be on stage and in the spotlight! A show that allows you to be entertained all while relaxing and sitting back to take in the show. You can catch “Don’t Quit Your Day Job” on August 10th and August 11th.

Classic Country Cabaret

Alana Opie is bringing you all of your favorite country hits performed with a twist and a unique performance that is not to be missed; you will swear the artists themselves are playing their hits. Check out this amazing tribute to Classic Country stars such as Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn on August 12th and August 13th.

Ann’s Furniture Set

This is an act that is hard to pass on if you get the chance to attend it. While you may never have heard of Ann Morrison, you will long since not forget about her once you catch her performance on August 13th.

Soul Sisters, a Celebration of Divas

Soul meets awesome with this performance that celebrates all things, soul. Whether you are a fan or never even have heard Soul Music before, you will be hooked after seeing this performance by Syreeta Banks and Ariel Blue. Be sure to grab a ticket for their Cabaret performance. HURRY – Tickets are selling out fast! Only the August 21st show still has seats available.

Random Acts: Hold My Beer

This is a performance that is not your typical musical performance. Be sure that you take the time to secure your funny bone as laughs will ensue once you see this performance on August 18th or August 19th. Audiences are warned that there will be foul language, and if the performers are doing their job, you will be offended (but in a funny way).

All of these performances are just a sampling of the events that you can enjoy at the Venice Theatre this summer. Be sure that you catch as many of them as you can as these are some of the best entertainment that the area has to offer.
