Have you been itching to spend the day out in nature? If so, it’s time to plan a trip to the Curry Creek Preserve. From hiking trails to a kayak launch, this preserve has everything that a nature enthusiast could possibly want. You can expect to spend hours at this gorgeous preserve.
The Preserve’s Trails
Many people visit the preserve so they can walk around the trails. These trails are rustic, but they are still easy to walk on so you don’t have to be an expert hiker to navigate them. You never know what you might encounter when walking the trails. You might run across gopher tortoises, river otters, eastern indigo snakes, wading birds, and alligators. You will get to see all of these animals in their natural habitats. You usually have to go to the zoo to see so much wildlife in one place.
The Kayak Launch
While the preserve doesn’t rent kayaks and canoes, you can bring your own and use the launch. The launch is located on the creek. Consider bringing your kayak or canoe along so you can explore the preserve from the water. Then, you can take your vessel back to your vehicle and walk around the trails.
The preserve also has a small picnic shelter. The shelter is located near the west entrance. You will also find a bike rack near the entrance.
The preserve also has benches so you can rest for a bit. Sit on a bench and peer through your binoculars. You are certain to spot some wildlife.
Bring Fido Along
If you have a dog, he will surely love the preserve. Leashed pets can visit the preserve, but they are only welcome in the western section. They are absolutely forbidden to go into the eastern section of the preserve.
The Curry Creek Preserve will renew your interest in nature. After your visit, you will be ready to explore other natural areas around the country. If you can’t trust your current vehicle to take you from one adventure to the next, stop by Venice Honda in Venice, Florida for an upgrade. Your new vehicle will help you see everything you want to see in the United States and beyond.
